ET caught up with the close-knit comedy community at Spike TV's 2014 Guys Choice Awards on June 7 in Culver City, Calif., where the serious car accident Saturday that left 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan in critical condition was obviously on everyone's mind.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg is especially close to Morgan, given that the two appeared on Saturday Night Live together.

"Just hoping that they make it, and we love them, and it's scary as hell," a somber Samberg told ET. "Certainly it hits home. SNL, family ... we're family, so. All my prayers and wishes for his family."

Morgan's good friend Kevin Hart also was hit hard by the tragic accident, which has already claimed the life of comedian James McNair.

"When I first started out, Tracy was one of the first people who was very influential in getting me on the stage at certain spots so, to see something like this that's so random happen to someone that you genuinely love and that you're close to, it takes a toll on you," he said. "It makes you appreciate life, but also realize how short life can be. ... I think I'm still a little shell-shocked. And I'm happy at the fact that he isn't worse than what he is, because he could be dead."
