"The court's decision today upheld our father's explicit wishes as expressed by him in his health directive: 'If the extension of my life would result in a mere biological existence, devoid of cognitive function, with no reasonable hope for normal functioning, then I do not desire any form of life sustaining procedures, including nutrition and hydration...' Transitioning our father's treatment to comfort-oriented care was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make," the family said.

"For the last 11 days, our father has been surrounded day and night by love and care by his daughters Kerri and Julie, his son Mike, his brother Mouner and sister-in-law Mary, and his dear friend Gonzalo Venecia," the statement continued. "We continue to hope that Jean and Liberty will come join his family during this time."

This follows a family battle that gained national attention when a judge ordered a court investigator to probe into Casey's whereabouts. The children of the former Top 40 host complained that they had not been able to see their father in accordance with an agreement with their stepmother, who reportedly chose the medical facilities where Casey was receiving treatment.

Casey, 82, suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease and is not able to speak.

In a bizarre twist earlier this month, footage surfaced of Casey's wife, Jean Kasem, throwing raw hamburger meat in the direction of Casey's daughter Kerri.

Jean later told NBC News that she was following a Bible verse, saying, "In the name of King David, I threw a piece of raw meat into the street in exchange for my husband to the wild rabid dogs."
