Pop star Miley Cyrus has obtained a permanent restraining order against a fan who was allegedly obsessed with her.

25-year-old Devon Meek, who reportedly told police that he believed Cyrus had been communicating with him through the radio using lyrics from her songs, was arrested on May 16 outside a home that Meek thought belonged to Cyrus. Cyrus immediately filed for an emergency restraining order after the arrest.

Now, the 21-year-old singer has obtained a permanent restraining order that requires Meek to stay 100 yards away from Cyrus and her home, or to contact her in any way, for three years. If Meek were to violate the order, he could face a fine of up to $1000, spent up to one year in jail, or both.

Meek is reportedly currently spending time in a psychiatric treatment. According to The Associated Press, Meek allegedly told police, when he was arrested, that if he wasn't able to meet Cyrus, the police should shoot him in the head because he would rather die than not be with her.

Cyrus has not released any comment on the restraining order or Meek.
