Jessica Simpson Sunbathes Before Her Big Wedding (Pre-Wedding Pics)

Today Jessica Simpson, 33 will marry former NFL player Eric Johnson in a ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif. The ceremony is expected to take place at 4 pm PT.

The soon-to-be wedded couple kicked off their wedding weekend with a Fourth of July barbecue at San Ysidro Ranch, and we have some photos of the event!

The pop star and actress was relaxing and catching some rays for the holiday, which isn't a bad way to keep those pre-wedding jitters away

"We're having a real Americana 4th of July party," celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss told PEOPLE.com about the event."It’s very down home. But it’s not a T-shirt and jeans Americana. Because Eric’s from Boston, it’s more khakis and white shirts. Very Kennedy!"

People also reports the barbecue had a cocktail hour featuring lobster dogs, followed by a Southern-style buffet with beef brisket, BBQ baby back ribs, and fried chicken. The party also included a photo booth, games for the kids, and sparklers to mark the holiday.

This will be Jessica's second marriage. Her and Eric share two kids, a daughter Maxwell, 2, and son, Ace, who is 12 months old.

Next week, July 10, Jessica celebrates a birthday, making July a very momentous month for the happy couple.
