Jewel Spends 4th of July with Her Estranged Husband (PHOTO)

Are Jewel and Ty Murray managing to stay amicable even after their split? According to a photo Jewel posted to Instagram on the Fourth of July, it seems like they may still be trying to work on being friends, even if they aren't staying married.

The photo shows Jewel and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, champion rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, celebrating the holiday with their young son Kase in Colorado.

Jewel captioned the photo, writing: "Happy fourth everyone! @typbr Kase & I enjoyed the parade here in CO. Send pics of your weekend!"

On Tuesday, July 1, the 40-year-old singer took to her blog to announce that her and Murray, 44, had decided to get a divorce.

"Dear World. It is infinitely strange to write those words, especially considering the personal nature of the topic, which is the purpose of my writing today," she wrote. "But the truth is I have lived my life in the public eye since I was 19. And while it is intimidating to live a life in the public, it has also been a privilege to make a living with my words, my thoughts, my feelings… Which brings me to this highly personal announcement today. My husband, friend and partner of 16 years and I have decided to get a divorce."

Jewel continued: "Our dedication to our son is unwavering and we are both committed to being the best partners in raising our son. Due to the spirit in which we have gone about this separation, we trust we can remain dear friends who hold each other in high esteem, which is so important to us as parents - as we wish only what is best for our son."

Clearly, the two are trying to stick to that, making sure Kase has a Fourth of July that he remembers for all the right reasons.

Jewel and Murray got married in 2008 in a ceremony held in the Bahamas, and later welcomed their son in July 2011.
