Cory Monteith's Mom: I Couldn't Look at a Pic of Him Until 3 Days Ago

It's been a year since the death of Cory Monteith, and the Glee guy's mom is still mourning her son's death.

"The loss is horrendous … until three days ago I couldn't look at a picture of Cory," Ann McGregor tells ABC News' Bianna Golodryga of Monteith, who she called her "baby bear."

On July 13, 2013, the actor was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room at the age of 31. According to the coroner's report, he died of a mixture of heroin and alcohol.

McGregor says she saw her son just two days before his passing, and recalls that he was looking to sign a lease in Vancouver and return home to Canada. When asked if she thought Monteith was looking to get out of Hollywood and the entertainment business, she says, "I think he was easing himself out of it."

The Glee star's mom also discloses that she does keep in touch with her son's girlfriend Lea Michele through text. "She's hurting too," she says of the actress. "You see the sadness. I know her pain."
