It appears even the United States Environmental Protection Agency is playing Kim Kardashian's smart phone game.

Apparently, the government organization's Twitter account sent out an auto-generated tweet that read: "I'm now a C-List celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!"

The post was sent out Monday evening to the EPA's 52,000 followers. According to Buzz Feed, the message was up for three hours and was re-tweeted over 3,000 times before someone caught it.

While people speculated the account may have been hacked, the EPA owned up to the tweet with a cheeky apology: "Whoops...our bad. Sorry about the tweet. Upside - more attention for the Office of Water, thanks Kim Kardashian."

Needless to say, the Twitterverse exploded with jokes, with even Michigan Congressman John Dingell getting in on the fun. He tweeted: "I'm the last original author of the Clean Water Act, but I have no idea who/what a Kardashian is and I rarely play games. You OK, @EPAwater?"
