Veteran Actor Ed Nelson Dies at 85

Hollywood is mourning the loss of another legendary actor. Ed Nelson, best known for playing Dr. Michael Rossi on the popular 1960s groundbreaking primetime soap opera Peyton Place, has passed away. 

The veteran actor died of congestive heart failure. He was 85 years-old. Asta Hansen, Ed's daughter-in-law confirmed the news to the New York Times.

He appeared in 463 episodes of Peyton Place, from 1964 to 1969 starring alongside Ryan O'Neal and Mia Farrow.Ed also appeared in the TV movie spinoffs, Murder in Peyton Place and Peyton Place: The Next Generation.

Ed went on to star in many television series including, The Silent Force, Murder, She Wrote and Capitol

His last film was a small role in 2003's Runaway Jury with John Cusack and Dustin Hoffman.

Nelson is survived by his wife Patricia Miller and his six children and fourteen grandchildren. Check out this video to see some of his biggest roles throughout his career.
