It sounds like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have hung up their BFF break-apart necklaces.
Lovato, 21, opened up a little bit on Thursday's Watch What Happens Live about what happened to cause a rift in her friendship with the 22-year-old Come & Get It singer.
During a round of "Plead the Fifth", the Skyscraper singer was asked about why she unfollowed her once best gal pal Gomez on Twitter. She initially responded, "I plead the sixth. If that's in the game."
Host Andy Cohen pressed Lovato for a real answer, inquiring, "Are people reading too much into it? I mean, are they reading into something that doesn't exist?"
She simply answered, "I think it's just one of those things where people changed and people grow apart."
While Lovato remained pretty tight-lipped about Gomez, she gushed over her former X Factor co-judge Britney Spears. "I just remember her having all these little moments where someone would come out on stage, and she’d just say it like it was," she recalled of being at the judges' table with Spears. "She didn't care and she would just say like, 'I don't get it.' It was just really funny and endearing the way that she would say it. I would just come off across as a bitch. It was cute when she did it!"
She was even sorta nice when talking about her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. In a game of "Shag, Marry, Kill," she was given Justin Bieber, Jonas or Simon Cowell to choose from. She initially said she'd kill them all, but added, "No, Joe and I are good friends. So, I wouldn't kill him. I'd keep him around."
Do you think Lovato and Gomez just grew apart, or was it something bigger than that?
