Jessica Alba is not only an actress but an entrepreneur, and her company is now worth a whole lot of money.
In 2012, Jessica launched The Honest Company after becoming the mother of two little girls — Honor, 6, and Haven, 3.
Honest.com offers "natural, safe, beautiful and effective products for the family and home." The products are said to be non-toxic and environmentally sensitive.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the web site recently closed in on a $70 million fundraising round, which now values her company at $1 billion.
On the site, she says, "When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been. It's the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start."
The cheapest "bundle" of baby products that her site offers will run you $35.95 a month, and it includes five products of your choice. For $79.95 a month, you can get a bundle that includes six packages of diapers and four packages of wipes.
Cashing in on motherhood, Jessica joins the ranks of Silicon Valley's most successful startups and you may even be able to own stock in it soon. Honest's Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder told The Wall Street Journal, "I can’t say when that will be, but we are definitely starting to think and act like a public company."
