You need to see what happens when this 7-week-old's hearing aids are turned on.

On days like today—when we lose one of the comedy greats and the world is laughing a little less—it’s nice to find something to make you smile. Joan would have preferred a biting takedown of pop culture and sexism or whatever else has her snarking (and from her, we would have loved it), but this video is good too.

A 7-week-old baby boy, Lachlan Lever, hearing his parents for the first time. "Our son was diagnosed as having moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears," his dad, Toby, explains. "His reaction when they were turned on was truly amazing."

"When they turned the headphones on and Lachlan smiled and his face lit up, it was the most magical thing I’d ever seen in my life," his mother, Michelle, told Daily Mail. "I had never been more happy in my life."

And while the video just went viral this week, it’s actually from July of 2012. Which means Lachlan is now two years old and, according to Michelle, he's a "chatterbox" who loves music and singing and dancing.

"I hope [the video] can give some other families the realization everything is going to be okay," she says. For everyone else, we hope it made you as happy as it made us.
