Ian Somerhalder finds Nikki Reed "magical."
The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder is taking a stand against those hating on his relationship with Twilight star Nikki Reed.
Though the new couple hasn't been shy about packing on the PDA, some fans have not taken too kindly to the fact that Nikki was once good friends with Ian's ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev.

So when some fans took to Ian's Instagram to bash Nikki, it looks like he finally had enough.
"You HATE NIKKI REED? Really? Do you know her? Hmmmm, I'm not sure that you do. Look on her Instagram feed or twitter and all you will see is a compassionate and beautiful human being," Ian wrote in a lengthy comment. "Please put your negative energy elsewhere. You don't even know the person you're talking about."
He also appeared to make a few of the commenters feel guilty about their negative comments.
"Do you care about me? Ask yourself that question. What's the answer? Is it yes? If it is-- then please be happy for me. ... Do your research of the person you say sucks or you HATE. You'll find that she's a magical person doing great things in the world. If you hate Nikki than you must hate me ... That's sad."

Ian, 35, and Nikki, 26, first stepped out together in July, but have seemingly gotten serious fast.
The two even adopted a horse together in August, which they named Eagle.
