On what would have been her 31st birthday today, Amy Winehouse was honored with a life-size statue in Camden Town, England.
The grey statue only has a pop of red color for the flower on her famous beehive.
The Associated Press reports that Winehouse's father Mitch was "incredibly emotional" upon seeing the statue. He said, "It is like stopping her in a beautiful moment in time," he said. "We really hope Amy's fans love the statue."
The late-singer died three years ago from drug and alcohol abuse. She was found dead at her home in London, England on July 23, 2011.
The Winehouse family set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation to honor her memory and further help prevent the effects of drugs and alcohol misuse on young people as well as empower children through music therapy and education.
