PICS: Must-See Celeb Sightings

Lara literally wrote the book on flea market hunting. In the paperback, titled Flea Market Fabulous, she shows people how to design with vintage treasures.

First lesson: You snooze, you lose.

"I pay the extra money to get in early," said Lara. "That's when a lot of dealers and designer go, because early bird does get the worm."

Another tip: If at first you don't succeed, try again.

"Make sure you go around the flea market more than once, because it's too overwhelming," Lara said. "It's like visual overload and you will see different things with each pass."

And once you've found that winning piece, be ready to close the deal.

"Bring cash. Cash is king," Lara insisted. "Nothing kills a negotiation like 'Can I write a check?'"
