Taylor Swift speaks out on feminism, but is she a feminist?

Taylor Swift is excited by Emma Watson's fight for feminism and has some words of her own on the issue.

At the United Nations on Sept. 20, the Harry Potter star debuted her new campaign HeForShe, a gender equality solidarity movement. "We want to end gender inequality," she said. "We want to try and galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for change."

Now Swift is joining Emma in support on French Canadian television show Tout Le Monde saying, "So many girls out there say 'I'm not a feminist' because they think it means something angry or disgruntled or complaining…I just think that a lot of girls don’t know the definition and the fact that Emma got up and explained it, I think it's an incredible thing and I am happy to live in a world where that happened."

For Swift, feminism means, "you believe that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities and to say that you're not a feminist means that you think men should have more rights and opportunities than women."

While she gushed about Watson, the "Shake It Off" singer also had choice words for females, "One thing I do believe as a feminist is that in order for us to have gender equality we have to stop making it a girl fight, and we have to stop being so interested in seeing girls trying to tear each other down. It has to be more about cheering each other on, as women."

This comes after Swift told Rolling Stone she has a fellow pop star nemesis. While she didn't say who, speculation suggested that it was Katy Perry as she tweeted out a Mean Girls message
