Kate Winslet: I Didn't 'Snog' Leonardo DiCaprio

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed one of the most beloved movie couples in James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film Titanic, but in real-life, the two might have one of the best friendships a guy and girl could ask for. Some Leo and Kate fans will be sad to hear that the co-stars have only ever been just friends.

"It's so disappointing for people to hear that," Winslet tells Marie Claire UK's Nov. 2014 issue about her platonic relationship with DiCaprio. "Because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did."

Winslet-- who turns 39 on Sunday, Oct. 5-- spills what she believes is the secret to the two's close bond, telling the publication, "I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing."

She adds, "[Leo] always saw me as one of the boys. I've never really been a girly-girl."

Winslet also insists that the strenuous hours on set of Titanic is what strengthened her friendship with DiCaprio, 39. "We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system," she says.

There might not be romance but these two certainly provoke awe-inspiring moments. Upon winning her Golden Globe for her role in Revolutionary Road, which she played DiCaprio's wife, Winslet called her co-star the "love of [her] life."

The mother-of-three also had her friend walk her down the aisle when she married Ned Rocknroll.

After reading all this, do you still think these two could get together?
