Sofia Vergara is a stunner – but we already knew that. Now the Modern Family vixen
is gracing the cover of Shape magazine
and is looking better than ever! ET is behind the scenes of the cover shoot where the actress dished on her own workout tips and how she has got her best body at age 42.
"I didn't used to work out much when I was younger," the actress told the mag. "I wasn't expected to be very skinny, you know, because I'm Latin and you're expected to have bigger legs [and a] bigger butt."
She admits that it wasn't until she turned 40 that she had that "aha moment" about taking care of her body.
"Now that I am an actress I know that with age you need to keep things where they were initially," she said. "I know I have to work out. I don't love it that much but it's become part of my life."
Besides working with her trainer on Pilates-based exercises, according to the mag Sofia has embraced Dr. Oz's vegetable juices and tries to eliminate processed foods from her diet. But that doesn't mean she's doesn't indulge every once in a while. Her motto? "No pain, no cake!”
Vergara says, "If I go out to dinner I order a salad and a chicken, or a salad and a fish -- and then I have my dessert," she admits. "I don't order pizza, pasta, spaghetti and dessert."
"First, you need chemistry, from the moment you meet each other," she said.
