Mom Washes Clothes in Pool: 'Extreme Cheapskate'

Maintaining a pool does not have to be expensive.

In order to save money on a pool, penny pincher Jeni on TLC's Extreme Cheapskate saves on laundry.

She uses the pool as a way to wash clothes because of the chemicals in it. Although it does create quite a reaction from her children. One of her kids says, "It makes me feel like I'm in 1912."

Jeni explains that pool maintenance costs a lot of money so she has some DIY fixes. She uses baking soda to clean her pool and bubble wrap to cover it.

She says the average pool costs $3200 to maintain, and "It's the cost of running that pool that really bothers me."
