The alleged incident is said to have taken place at Collins' LA apartment complex, but it is important to note that Collins has not yet been charged with anything.

"We are investigating allegations of indecent exposure and annoying or molesting of a child," said Lt. Steven Katz of the LASD Special Victims Bureau.

This news comes after an audio recording was released featuring a man who is alleged to be Collins saying that he exposed himself to a young girl.

The recording reportedly came from Collins' estranged wife, Faye Grant, with whom Collins is currently battling in divorce proceedings. According to Faye, the recordings were given to police and she had no role in their release to the media.

NEWS: Rosie O'Donnell "Shocked & Heartbroken" Over Stephen Collins Scandal

Longtime friend Rosie O'Donnell expressed her feelings about the scandal, saying that she was "shocked and heartbroken" to hear the recording.

"I think, like anyone here who knows somebody who's been accused of sexual abuse of children, it devastates everyone in the radius of that person," said Rosie. "For me, I always have my antennae up for that, having had a childhood with that."

But even with her wariness, Rosie admitted that she never would have expected Collins to be named in such allegations. According to Rosie, that was the part that upset her the most.

"In my opinion, he's the Michael Landon of this generation," said Rosie. "He always plays the wholesome, wonderful, loving caring guy and in real life is that. And then to add that on top of it is so unbelievably hard."
