Obama's response? "I really wasn't planning on it."

If someone’s going to steal your girl, it might as well be The President.

President Barack Obama was out in Chicago on Monday to cast his early ballot (the first day early voting was open, fyi) and his booth happened to be next to Aia Cooper’s. Well, Aia’s fiancé Mike Jones wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to crack a joke.

“We actually let two people go in front of us and we didn’t think anything of it, [but] when we got in there, he was there,” Aia told CNN affiliate WLS-TV of her chance encounter with Obama.

“I knew [Mike] was going to say something smart, but I didn’t know what he was going to say,” Aia can be heard saying in the video. To which Obama laughs and says she’s going to go home and tell all her friends that Mike is a “fool.”

And Obama got the last laugh when the two finished casting their votes and he hugged Aia and told her, “You’re gonna kiss me, give him something to talk about.”

“Now, he’s really jealous.” Watch the entire interaction below:

"He gave me a hug and a kiss,” Aia told WLS-TV afterwards. “On the cheek, just the cheek — please, Michelle, don't come after me! Just the cheek." (And hey, at least this time President Obama met people who were actually excited to see him!)
