Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to failed relationships.
The 45-year-old married twice before dating and getting engaged to her Gigli costar Ben Affleck in 2002, but then they split in 2004. She then rekindled a romance with singer Marc Anthony a few weeks later and married him in June of 2004. She divorced Anthony after having two kids with him in July of 2011, and then, in November of 2011, she started dating her most recent ex, dancer Casper Smart.
After splitting with Casper in June of this year, the singer now has a book about her mistakes, relationships and finding love.
In her new memoir titled True Love, J.Lo opens up about how that relationship with Ben Affleck was her "first real heartbreak" that led to the next events in her life.
She describes the heartbreak as one that makes her very relatable. She says, "It felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest. People do lots of things to anesthetize themselves in moments like these. Some people do drugs, some drink and some go out and party."
So what did Jenny from the block do to cure her broken heart?
She explains, "I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved and wanted in my loneliest hours. And that was the moment when Marc reappeared in my life."
Her memoir further details her relationship with Marc, her split from him and what she is looking for in a partner now.
Today, she is focusing on loving herself because "it's the key to loving someone else and allowing others to love you." J. Lo's memoir will be released on November 4.
