On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel revealed that People Magazine's choice for the 2014 Sexiest Man Alive is Thor star Chris Hemsworth.

Hemsworth, 31, had been part of a long list of celebs whose names were floating around as possible contenders for the title. Many actually considered him a long shot compared to actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Pratt, Matthew McConaughey and his younger brother, Hunger Games heartthrob Liam Hemsworth. All these men had projects come out this year, and/or are set to have something come out soon.

However, it didn't take long for the internet to make some suggestions of their own on who should have been chosen for this coveted cover.

A lot of the suggestions were stars many considered to be front-runners. See the tweets:

While others suggested a few long shots…

And, you had the select few who are keeping an improbable dream alive…

The occasional Twitter user wanted to start the new, more morbid honor of Sexiest Man Dead...

Meanwhile, some people on Twitter simply aren't good at making concrete choices…

There's no denying that Chris Hemsworth is an objectively attractive human being, but is he the Sexiest Man Alive?

Is he even the sexiest man in the upcoming sequel The Avengers: Age Of Ultron? (It's got to go to James Spader's voice, right?) Check out the trailer below, and judge for yourself.
