Despite his famously conservative upbringing, it looks like Nick Jonas's dad has a pretty good sense of humor about his son's racier new image.
The 22-year-old singer/actor is definitely not shy about showing off his jaw-dropping physique these days, most notably in a headline-making October photoshoot for Flaunt magazine, in which he played homage to Mark Wahlberg's iconic Calvin Klein ads.
Crotch grabs and all.
"I sent the pictures to my parents actually right after I did the shoot for Flaunt magazine, which is actually a tribute to Mark Wahlberg. [His] iconic shoot in the '90s," Jonas told E! News at the American Music Awards Sunday.
His father's response?
"My dad responded and was like, 'You know you get that from me, right?'" Nick revealed. "So he was actually really proud."
He also gave his tips for the perfect crotch-grabbing shot.
"You need three things: a hand, a crotch and a willingness to do anything," he joked. "Now my basic steps are turn to the side, profile's better. Make sure your hand's ready and then just go for it. That's it. All you need."
Nick, who -- along with his older brothers and former band-mates Kevin and Joe -- famously wore purity rings at the height of their popularity, has clearly departed from his formerly squeaky-clean image, and confirmed earlier this month that he's no longer a virgin.
"I don't regret it," he candidly told Wendy Williams about his former vow to not have premarital sex. "I think it was an important part of my childhood and it was that. As I grew up, I sort of figured out what was important to me and my own belief system. We all grow up and we all live life and find out what’s important to us, that's what happened. I went on that journey myself and I'm now comfortable with who I am and what I believe in and I’m an adult."
When Williams bluntly asked him if he's still a virgin, he confessed, "No. As I said, I'm an adult in all ways."
Nick is also totally shedding his Disney image through his new DirectTV show Kingdom, in which he has some definite NSFW sex scenes. Check out how he got into "Hulkish" shape for his role as a fighter in the video below.
