GRAMMYs' Album of the Year nominees were revealed at the end CBS’s A Very GRAMMY Christmas television special and the list features some predictable noms as well as a few surprises.
Beyonce's self-titled album was the surest bet in this category, and the GRAMMYs didn’t disappoint, handing the performer her sixth nomination of the year.
Other multiple nominees in the category include Ed Sheeran for his album x and newcomer Sam Smith’s debut In the Lonely Hour.
Pharrell Williams also scored a nomination for his album GIRL, which featured the producer and performer’s smash hit single "Happy."
The biggest surprise of the category was certainly alt-rocker Beck’s nomination for his album Morning Phase. Though the musician is an eternal critics' darling, he beat out the likes of Ariana Grande, Jack White, Arcade Fire and Sia to snag the category’s final slot.
The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards air Feb. 8, 2015 on CBS.
