New 'Insurgent' Trailer Shows Tris Battling Against Herself

The latest trailer for Insurgent, the second film in the Divergent series, answers some of the questions that were posed by last month’s teaser. But one major mystery remains: What’s in the box?

In the film, Erudite faction leader Jeanine (Kate Winslet) is hunting Divergents in the hopes of finding one who can unlock a mysterious box. It’s clear that Tris (Shailene Woodley) is the Divergent they are looking for, and the rebel group joins forces with the factionless to fight back against the oppressive regime and prevent Tris’ capture.

"Jeanine’s never going to stop coming after us," declares Four (Theo James). "It’s time we fight back."

The trailer shows two of Woodley’s former on-screen love interests betraying her character and working for the enemy. Ansel Elgort, Woodley’s co-star in The Fault in Our Stars, plays Tris’ brother Caleb, who has begun working for Jeanine, and The Spectacular Now’s Miles Teller plays Peter, a Dauntless who is charged with executing Tris.

The action-packed trailer also gives Divergent fans another look at Tris’ efforts to save her mother, as well as an intense fight scene between Tris and a simulated version of herself.

"I’m not going to fight you," Tris tells Jeanine, as she is hooked up to the simulation machine at Erudite headquarters.

"Of course you’re not," Jeanine answers cooly. "You’re going to fight you."
