Lady Gaga received some words of wisdom from an older woman, who happened to be pole dancing to "Poker Face."
Mother Monster showed up on Thursday's Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon with her music collaborator Tony Bennett, and when the three of them got on the subject of taking advice from strangers, Gaga went into a story about a date ("Yes, it was very romantic, chivalry!") where she went to at Atlanta's strip club, the Clairmont Lounge.
"The night was called, 'Where Strippers Go to Die,'" Gaga recalled before calling out one dancer in particular who was moving to her song. "So I think the woman must have been 65, 70 years old and was stripping and she was fabulous, and she was going something to 'Poker Face'. And she had no panties on."
Not recognizing the 28-year-old "Born This Way" singer, Gaga said the stripper started talking to her. "So she leans over and she goes, 'You know that Lady Gaga, she can really sing. If she took all those clothes off, and she just sang, she would be great!'" the woman advised.
Needless to say, Gaga took the tip to heart. "And I was like, 'Mm hmm... Well you've certainly taken all of your clothes off!" she said. "So you know, maybe in some ways, I took her advice."
Gaga later revealed her identity to the woman who asked her to "sign a beer can that she crushed between her breasts."
Taylor Kinney's girlfriend declared to Fallon, "Showbiz!"
