John Travolta is heading back to TV!

The actor has not been seen consistently on a TV show since Welcome Back Kotter in 1979. Thirty six years later, he will play the role of attorney Robert Shapiro who was part of O.J. Simpson's defense team.

While American Horror Story and Glee creator Ryan Murphy will serve as executive producer on the series, the 60-year-old actor will also serve as a producer. The FX miniseries is based on Jeffrey Toobin's book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson about the high profile 1995 murder trial in which Simpson was acquitted for the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.

While it remains to be seen how that famous moment where the leather glove found at the crime scene didn't fit O.J.'s hand will play out on the show, the series will have an all-star cast.

Travolta joins Friends actor David Schwimmer who will play Kim Kardashian's father, attorney Robert Kardashian, and Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. will take on the role of O.J. Simpson. American Horror Story: Freak Show's Sarah Paulson will star as the prosecutor Marcia Clark.
