Amber Rose admits that not all of her family supported her marriage to Wiz Khalifa.

During OWN's Light Girl, airing Jan. 19, the 31-year-old model suggests that not everyone in her family attended her wedding because of Wiz's race. "With my family, they feel like they’re more superior or better than an African American because we’re Creole and we have culture and that’s something I battle with most of my life," Amber said. "It’s more of the older people in my family."

Amber and the 27-year-old rapper were married on Aug. 18, 2013, just six months after they welcomed their son Sebastian. The couple filed for divorce a year later.

"It’s such a sensitive subject that it’s hard to explain yourself without sounding mean or bitter or angry, but I am," the model added of her family's misgivings towards other races. "I’m angry that my family is like that and they want to pass so bad that they raise my mom and my uncles and my aunts to not fully know their culture."

She does reveal that all that is changing. "Our younger generation, we've embraced it so much," she said, "And I feel like that’s why my father is white.”
