Val Kilmer is thankful for the support after it was revealed he taken to an intensive care unit.

The Top Gun actor took to Facebook on Saturday to deny reports of a throat tumor, which was previously reported by TMZ as the reason for his visit.

"Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation," he wrote. "I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU. Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk. I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don't worry."

Kilmer's rep released a statement saying the 55-year-old is being tested at the Los Angeles hospital and is being cared for by his two children, Mercedes, 23 and Jack, 19.

The statement says, "According to a family friend and spokesperson, the doctors are encouraged by his progress and are hopeful that Mr. Kilmer will make a full recovery."

The news comes months after concerns were raised over Kilmer’s health last September. At the time, it appeared he had dropped a drastic amount of weight.

ETonline will continue to update on Kilmer's condition.
