David Letterman didn't let Ryan Reynolds off easy.

David Letterman is as eager to know Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's baby name as we all are!

Reynolds recently revealed that despite reports, his 6-week-old daughter's name is not Violet. On Wednesday's Late Show, Letterman listed the most popular girls' baby names, but had no luck getting the new dad to crack -- but he got close. "I should've worn my cup!" the Woman in Gold actor joked. "I didn't know I was going to be busted this hard."

Thanks to Letterman's investigative interview, we now know that the A-list couple's daughter has a family name but it's not Elaine (Lively's mom's name), Madison, Ava, Isabella or Sophia ...to name a few. Realizing Reynolds wasn't going to blurt out the baby's name, Letterman moved on to chatting about the actor's experience as a new parent.

"It's amazing. When we had that baby I fell more in love with my wife than I had ever been in my entire life," Reynolds said of the Gossip Girl star, melting hearts everywhere.

Almost in the same breath, he then threw his wife in front of the bus -- or at least he said he would. "I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby," the 38-year-old actor quipped. "You can quote me."

Reynolds admitted that he's the diaper changer of the house while his Lively, who is apparently breast feeding, is their baby's "breakfast, lunch and dinner."

"She's a human Denny's all day long and all night long," Reynolds told Letterman, who warned he may want to tread lightly this close to Valentine's Day.

The new dad quickly added, "But the most beautiful Denny's you've ever seen."
