On Feb. 18, the rapper-turned-DIY host was charged with burglary and grand theft after a foreclosed house near a home he was renovating was robbed. While he’s reportedly cooperating with police, he wasn’t able to get into details.

“That’s all I can say about it right now. It’s just a mess and I’m dealing with it,” Van Winkle said.

Van Winkle, 47, was on GMA to promote the fourth season of his DIY Network series, The Vanilla Ice Project, which was filming at the time of the incident.
