Volunteers at Hope For Paws in Los Angeles rescued a little dog spotted in the Los Angeles River.
The dog, who's rescuer named him Jordan, was barely clinging to life and had likely been there for a couple of days. He had been abused and thrown into the river according to an eye witness. One of his paws had been removed.
Jordan could not move and had to be transported by basket to an animal hospital.
Jordan suffered from malnourishment, as well as bacterial infections and skin disease. Slowly, but surely, he recovered.
They gave Jordan a bath, blood transfusion, and when he was finally strong enough, surgery. It was a lot to go through for a dog that had already been through so much.
Just a few days later, Jordan moved in with his foster parent and got noticeably better.
He made some new friends.
And started to show a lot of personality!
Despite having to move around with three legs he's a great runner.
And not a bad swimmer either!
You can watch the whole video of Jordan's rescue and recovery here.
We love you, Jordan!
It's National Puppy Day, which means it's a great day to celebrate all our adorable little best friends, and we just want to honor Jordan, who stayed brave and strong in impossible circumstances.
