Karreuche Tran is finally opening up about her intense on-again/off-again four-year relationship with Chris Brown.
The 26-year-old model recently sat down with spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant for an OWN television event airing this Saturday, in which she gives some insight about the controversial 25-year-old R&B singer, as well as the love triangle between her and Chris's ex Rihanna.
"I wanted to love him, because that's what he needs -- love," Karrueche tells Iyanla about her now ex, who allegedly fathered a baby girl with a 31-year-old former model named Nia. "I know what he needs. After four years, I know."
She then gets defensive when Iyanla comments that while she was taking care of Chris' needs, he wasn't taking care of hers.
"Yeah, and that's life, you know," she says matter-of-factly.
As for the couple's penchant for over-sharing on social media, she admits that this hasn't been the best decision.
"I've learned it the hard way," she now laughs. "It's the worst thing to do. It's nobody's business but you and the person, or just you yourself, and that again allows everybody to ... it leaves an open space for everybody to say what they want and have an opinion."
One aspect of her life that plenty of people had an opinion on was her love triangle with Rihanna and Chris. In October 2012, Chris announced he was splitting with Karrueche, citing his friendship with Rihanna as the reason. "I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna," he said in a statement. "I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."
He also posted a video that same month, admitting that he had feelings for both women at the same time.
"Is there such thing as loving two people?" he said. "I don't know if that’s possible, but for me, I feel like that."
Karrueche admits that Chris told her he was still "dealing" with Rihanna while they were still in a relationship.
"I was under the impression that it was a friend type of ... not a friend, but it wasn't what it came to be," she says about Chris' relationship with Rihanna. "I didn't want to believe it because I loved him."
Last September, ET caught up with Chris himself, who got candid about his superstar ex.
"We're friends," he said of Rihanna. "Nothing too serious… We're not trying to start a life together right now, we're just having fun."
