If you aren’t familiar with Humans of New York, it’s a photo project by Brandon Stanton where he goes around the city taking pictures of people and includes a sentence or two in the caption that is often funny, quirky, moving, inspiring, or occasionally DEPRESSING AS HELL.
But when he posted this photo of a girl who happened to be named Beyoncé...
...the most entertaining part of the post were, hands down, the comments.
“Sometimes I hate my name because it always draws attention to me,” the young gal says. “Every time people learn my name is Beyoncé, somebody starts singing ‘Single Ladies.’”
Just remember, it could always be worse than being Queen Bey:
There’s also this girl named Jenny who isn’t from the block:
This girl, whose hips are known to fib from time to time:
And more Katy Perry’s than you could shake a stick at:
There’s this M-K floating around in the world without her Ash:
This spice girl going solo without the rest of the spice rack:
This woman who would prefer you keep your feet off the couch:
This girl who had some high hair standards to live up to:
This woman who prefers journaling:
And this girl whose dad has definitely ordered a martini “shaken, not stirred” at some point and thought he was soooo funny and she was just like, “DAD! Stop embarrassing me!”
And sometimes it gets way, way worse. Because the ‘90s ruined your life:
Or people assume you’re going to come back to bite them in the ass:
Or when your parents named you after a condiment:
Or what’s left at the bottom of a smelly gym bag:
Or “bacon” if you say it in a Jamaican accent:
Or when it really seems like your parents just didn’t like you that much:
