A terrifying statue of famed actress Lucille Ball in her hometown of Celoron, N.Y. has been scaring residents since it was erected in 2009, and now the sculptor wants a do-over!

The statues sculptor Dave Poulin wrote The Hollywood Reporter expressing his regret over the finished version of the statue.

"I have shared my disappointment in the final outcome and have always believed it to be by far my most unsettling sculpture, not befitting of Lucy’s beauty or my ability as a sculptor," writes Poulin. "Yes, in retrospect, it should have never been cast in bronze and made public, and I take complete ownership of that poor decision."

Apparently, Poulin is even willing to redo the sculpture at his own expense.
"I am willing to put my time and money into redoing the Lucy sculpture and feel confident after ten years I can do a much better job," Poulin writes.

It's not clear however, whether the Celoron residents are willing to give Poulin another chance. A Facebook group was created with the goal of getting rid of the statue, which includes many photos making fun of Scary Lucy's startling face.

It's been likened to The Walking Dead.

Others have shown what happens when you show it to children.

Some have even suggested a Peanuts alternative.

Thanks for the apologies, Poulin! But for some Celoron residents it might be too little, too late.

Now, let's relive Lucille Ball's most memorable scenes! Watch the video below.
