Zayn Malik is taking a moment to give thanks.

The former One Direction member tweeted for the first time since leaving the British boy band last month, showing his appreciation for the support he's received.

"Wanna say thanks to everyone that's been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all.. you know who you are x," he posted on Monday.

The last tweet Zayn posted was on March 18, when he denied he cheated on his fiancee, Little Mix's Perrie Edwards.

"I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous f**ks in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x," he tweeted.

Zayn's new message comes after he debuted his newly shaved head at the Asian Awards on Friday, April 18, walking the red carpet with his mother Trisha. He took some time at the event to thank his former bandmates during his acceptance speech for the Outstanding Achievement in Music award.

"I'd also like to take this moment to thank four of the best guys I've ever met," he said, referring to Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. "What we did will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I thank them for that."

Late last month, Zayn broke his silence about his surprising decision to leave 1D in an interview with The Sun.

"I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of other people's happiness," he said. "It is crazy and wild and a bit mad, but at the same time I've never felt more in control in my life. And I feel like I'm doing what's right -- right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good."
