Demi Lovato opens up about how her boyfriend did not enable her.

Wilmer Valderrama was there for Demi Lovato when she needed him the most -- and she couldn't be more grateful!

The 22-year-old former Disney star has given credit to her boyfriend Wilmer for helping her stay sober before, but on Tuesday, the "Neon Lights" singer shared the exact words he said that helped her through her struggle with substance abuse.

"There were some moments when it was off and on when I was struggling with my issues," she said on Sydney’s Kyle and Jackie O show to KIIS 106.5. "What he would do is he wouldn't enable me so he'd say, 'I can't be around if you're not going to get your stuff together.'"

On March 15, Wilmer congratulated Demi on her milestone of being 3 years sober. "Today, we lay another stone together," he wrote. "It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important than any past, demon, disorder or addiction. Where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself. And I'm sure glad you did."
