Amy Schumer revealed the thought process behind her Kimye prank during a recent appearance on BBC America's The Graham Norton Show.
The comedienne caused quite a stir when she face-planted in front of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the Time 100 Gala red carpet in April -- a move that she admitted was a spur-of-the-moment decision.
The 34-year-old Trainwreck star explained that while walking the red carpet, photographers began to ignore her as soon as they spotted Kim and Kanye.
"All the reporters were going crazy, and it's Kim and Kanye just standing there owning it -- just being short and important," Amy said. "I think falling is the funniest thing, so I just took a dive in front of them."
While Kanye never cracked a smile, Kim held a grin throughout the ordeal and later told Amy that she thought it was "really funny," which was enough to win Amy over.
"When I'm in front of a celebrity, I just become such a flake," Amy said. "I was just saying things I didn't mean. I'm like, 'You and your sisters are just inspiring. Are you hiring at Dash?' ... But there's no way that either of them had any idea who I am."
Amy was quick to point out that while her legs may not have held up on the red carpet, her hair certainly did.
"Look how I look like a Pantene ad," Amy said. "I look pretty good."
