'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' Star Ernie Reyes Jr. Hospitalized After Kidney Failure

Ernie Reyes Jr. is fighting for his life.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze actor who played Keno is battling kidney failure.

Ernie's sister Destiny set up a GoFundMe page for the 43-year-old actor on June 5 to help raise money for a kidney transplant. "Ernie is currently undergoing dialysis treatment 3 times per week for 4 hours a day while waiting for a kidney transplant," she wrote. "This is a very challenging time not only for Ernie Jr.'s immediate family, but a challenging time for our family as well."

As of Friday, over $38,000 has been donated, over half of the goal set at $75,000.

"Regardless of where you have seen or heard of Ernie Reyes Jr., he has impacted peoples' lives all over the world through his extraordinary performances in television and film," she continued. "Please be aware that he needs support during this time of need and recovery of his life."

Ernie tweeted out to his sister after she started the fund. "Much love to my sister for starting a kidney transplant fund for me. I love you girl!"

The actor also shared a photo on Instagram as he was on his way to dialysis on June 8. "#Nevergive up and #motivationMonday" were the hashtags he used on his mirror selfie that shows his bandage.

That same day, he expressed his gratitude for the support. "I don't know what I would do without all your love and support," he tweeted. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart. #grateful."
