Jimmy Fallon was hospitalized Friday morning, and was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment, ET has learned. He is expected to make a full recovery.

However, he had to cancel today's Tonight Show taping. The show's official Twitter account announced the bad news, but assured all the fans that the 40-year-old comedian is "totally fine."

"Hey guys -- unfortunately tonight's taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand," the tweet reads. "He's totally fine but we'll be airing a repeat."
