Matt Bomer's three sons are as curious about his steamy stripper movie, Magic Mike XXL, as the rest of the world.

In a new interview with PrideSource, the actor says his kids -- twins Walker and Henry, 7, and Kit, 10 -- couldn't ignore their shirtless dad on the Magic Mike billboards en route to their school.

"When I'm driving them to school in the morning -- the first couple of times I tried to duck my head -- they realize it's me," Bomer reveals. "So, I told them when I was doing the movie, 'This is a movie I'm doing where we play dancers and we have fun and we try to entertain these ladies.'"

Hey, that's one way of putting it!

Down the line, Bomer says he'll fill the boys in on the details about starring in a stripper movie, but right now, he's avoiding specifics.

"I think it's dangerous to just ignore something," the 37-year-old says. "I try to frame it in a context that they can understand so that they're not just operating in the dark and going, 'Why is my dad naked on a billboard?' Because I'm trying to help them make sense of their world. In terms of a real conversation as to what that is, that probably won't start until they're teenagers."

Of his sons with husband Simon Halls, a Hollywood publicist, Bomer says they keep "me real grounded and real down to earth."

While on their way to see Jurassic World recently, Bomer got a kick out of what his eldest son, Kit, said to him about a Magic Mike XXL billboard, which also featured co-stars Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash and Adam Rodriguez.

"He brought it up," Bomer recalls. “[He said], 'Hey, that's you on that billboard.' I was like, 'Yeah.' And he goes, 'But they're not all you.' Like, you ain't that cool."

In the sequel to 2012's Magic Mike, Bomer reprises his role as Ken, and though he gets his groove on (and takes his clothes off), he learned the hard way that some things are just better left to the big screen.

"After we finished the first film, my sister got married shortly thereafter, and I took some of my new gyrations to the dance floor at her wedding reception," he says. "I realized very quickly, after getting some scathing looks from my cousins, that some things are just best left in the club and not brought to your sister's wedding reception party. Like, 'Oh, I better check myself -- I'm not in Magic Mike anymore!'"
Also during the interview, the actor responded for the first time to Channing Tatum's flattering remarks regarding whether he gets lost in Bomer's eyes.

"Absof***inglutely. No matter if you’re a man, woman, cat, hamster, you will get lost in Matt Bomer’s eyes. I don’t know what they are made of outside of dreams and rainbows and amazingness but it truly doesn’t matter. And when he sings. It’s like god gave with both hands and then grew a third hand and graced him with more," said Tatum during his recent (and revealing!) Reddit AMA interview

How did Bomer react to Tatum's man-crushy comments?

"I blushed," Bomer says. "Knowing Channing, and what a kind soul he is, I guess when you're the most handsome man on the planet -- and probably the most desired man on the planet -- you have the security to give those kinds of compliments. And so, it was great. It made my day, of course! I and the rest of the world feel the same way about him."
