One day after their 10-year anniversary, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner called it quits, which means they are both about to be single after spending over a decade out of the game.... And it's a whole new game.

As Bennifer 2.0 adjusts to single life after the "Ben Jen 10," we thought we'd offer up some helpful tips for getting back out there. In a whole bunch of ways, meeting a great person is easier than it's ever been. Just remember....

First thing's first, be authentic.

Ben and Jen left the dating pool back in the days of MTV dating shows like Room Raiders, Next, and Parental Control. As they get back out there, they'll probably want to take a less superficial approach. More than ever, dating in 2015 is about putting your true self out there, and if someone else doesn't like it, then just shake it off!

But Ben and Jen seem like two self-confident people. They probably already know this. What they might not know yet is....

Meeting people online is easier than ever.

With respect to the fact that we don't really know what it's like meeting people in Actor-Land, a lot of celebrities are using dating sites and apps like Tinder to look for love. Don't rely on your publicists to talk to someone else's publicist to set up a date! Trust an algorithm to do the matchmaking for you. It's worked for quite a few people.

And when you do find that person, and maybe have that spark, don't forget...

Texting has changed.

Comedian Aziz Ansari has a whole new book about navigating modern relationships -- oh, by the way, this isn't an endorsement, but consider looking into that -- and texting is quite a big part of it. Try to send funny, engaging texts to the person you're seeing, use emojis, and whatever you do, DON'T END SENTENCES WITH A PERIOD.

This is very important. "Hi!" means "hello." "Hi." means "I'm so mad at you I can't even see straight. Go away forever, please."

7 Times Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Got Too Soul-Crushingly Real About Their Marriage

Grand declarations of love have changed.

Leave the boombox in the basement or garbage or wherever. The way to show your bae (loved one) you care about them is by posting a photo of the two of you to Instagram/Facebook/wherever your friends congregate online with a sweet, loving (not TOO loving) status. Kim Kardashian is great at this.

Think we're overstating it? Go back and look at your Instagram feed, Ben. How many sweet pictures with Jen are there?

Zero. And you two HAD those moments...

Sorry to bring it up....

The point is: Be open about your love but don't overdo it. And if this is all a little overwhelming (we know you don't even have Instagram, Jen) just take a deep breath, and remember...

Take your time.

For the first time ever last year, the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that there are more single Americans than married ones. Consider yourself welcome to the Tribe of the Alone!

Honestly though, you have three great kids, awesome lives, and you both seem like really cool people. Take this time to rediscover who YOU are! And the rest will fall into place.
