Justin Bieber is siding with Kylie Jenner after she was slammed for posting a selfie of her wearing cornrows.

The Hunger Games
actress Amandla Stenberg
, 16, was one of those that criticized the reality star's hairstyle, writing: "When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards ur wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter."

Bieber disagrees.

"Guys leave her alone, were all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope!" the 21-year-old pop star responded to Jenner's photo. "I'm the first to know this. But saying she's being racist because she has her hair in braids is ridiculous."

Keeping things positive, Bieber added, "Let's focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid, let's do something about equality -- but it doesn't start here blasting a 17-year-old kid for wearing braids."

Jenner -- who is rumored to be dating 25-year-old rapper Tyga -- has replied to the cornrow controversy, calling out Stenberg's comments. "Mad if I don't, Mad if I do," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote. "Go hang w Jaden or something."

Stenberg attended prom with Jaden Smith this year. Smith also happens to be Jenner's rumored ex-boyfriend.
