The R&B singer didn't ring in his 28th quite as planned.

There are birthdays, and then there are birthdays.

Jeremih rang in his 28th by visiting a Los Angeles area jail.

The R&B bad boy (real name: Jeremy Felton) was arrested just after 2 a.m. PT on Friday, July 17, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was taken to a Van Nuys, California, jail, where he was booked at 3:30 a.m. and released on $15,000 bail.

The jail time didn't seem to slow the "Birthday Sex" singer down -- even if he probably would've preferred the outcome in his song to the late morning he ended up having. Jeremih still made his way to San Diego Friday night to celebrate his birthday at ParQ, a club performance he had been promoting on Twitter leading up to the weekend.

This isn't Jeremih’s first run-in with the law -- he was arrested and charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct in December 2014 after he tried to force his way onto a plane at New Jersey's Newark Airport. One month earlier, he reportedly caused $700 worth of damage to a Fuddruckers in Billings, Montana, according to TMZ.

Jeremih's court date is set for August 14.

The singer isn't the only one who's been arrested recently. Find out why John Stamos was booked on a DUI charge in the video below.
