Ed Sheeran Books 'The Bastard Executioner' and Is Officially About to Become Our Favorite TV Actor

Ed Sheeran is about to make his name in the acting world!

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter has booked a recurring role on The Bastard Executioner, a new FX series created by Sons of Anarchy executive producer Kurt Sutter, ET can confirm.

Sheeran will play an "ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder," in the upcoming drama. The singer was a big fan of Sons of Anarchy, and his performance of Foy Vance's "Make It Rain" was used in the series' final season.

It makes sense that Sheeran would do some dabbling in the acting world, considering his music game is already so on point! In fact, the British star considers his recent single, "Thinking Out Loud" to be a high point of his musical career.

"It's my favorite song I've ever done," he told ETonline of his soulful single. "Not even just on this album."
