Jake Owen is wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Just one day after revealing via Twitter that he and wife Lacey Buchanan were calling it quits, the singer got emotional on-stage while performing at WE Fest in Minnesota.

"A lot of people maybe shy away from it, but I think I'm going to do some weird stuff," he told the audience as he played an acoustic version of Garth Brooks' "The Dance." "My wife and I are getting a divorce, and this is probably the hardest s--- I've ever done in my life, to walk on stage every night, and try to pretend that everything's awesome, when it really isn't awesome. You know what I'm saying?"

The audience kept quiet as Owen played the heart-wrenching '90s hit, but cheered him on during a mid-song confessional.

"Thanks to people like you guys for singing along, you have no idea how much you lift me up every single night, and I love my wife more than anything in the world, and I love my little baby girl Pearl more than anything in the world," he said. "If it wasn't for both of them, I wouldn't even be here right now to be a happy man. That's a dance I'm glad I got to dance."

One night earlier, on the same stage, Miranda Lambert took a more lighthearted approach when addressing her high-profile divorce from Blake Shelton (who also played WE Fest on Saturday night, following Owen's set, but kept mum on his split). According to Twitter users on-site, Lambert joked about needing a drink.

Owen and Shelton aren't the only country stars to end their marriages this summer -- Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock sent shockwaves through the Nashville community earlier this month when the couple announced that they would be calling it quits after more than two decades of marriage.
