There's been an awakening… And our favorite Big Bang Theory characters have felt it!

On the ninth season of the smash CBS comedy, Sheldon (Jim Parsons), Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and the rest of our nerdtastic gang, will embark on a Star War-themed episode centered on the highly anticipated new chapter, The Force Awakens, TVLine reports.

Much like the rest of the world, the entire Big Bang writers' room is elated at how the new J.J. Abrams-helmed movie will be "weaved" into the characters' lives.

"Obviously, we’re all excited about it, just as human beings — and the characters are as well," executive producer Steve Molaro told TVLine. "I do't know exactly how it’s going to play in, but it won’t be ignored."

"We have some really cool ideas," the EP added.

This is, of course, not the first time that Star Wars has been a focal point of a Big Bang Theory episode. Most recently, Sheldon and Leonard took a trip to Skywalker Ranch in season eight, where they were held in a Stars Wars detention for trying to sneak into the property.

The Big Bang Theory writers confessed at Comic-Con that Sheldon was originally going to steal a lightsaber from the ranch and bring it back to the apartment, but they scrapped the idea of him being a felon because it was "out of character." Bummer!

Season nine of The Big Bang Theory premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
