Singer-songwriter Rachel Platten performed an unlikely duet during a recent visit to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

After learning about 7-year-old Jeremiah Succar, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in May, Platten made a surprise trip to his hospital room to cheer him up with her single "Fight Song." But when she launched into the melody, it was Platten that was in for a surprise, when Jeremiah had all the lyrics memorized.

It wasn't long before Jeremiah joined Platten in a flawless duet of the inspiring anthem.

"Jeremiah loves 'Fight Song,'" his dad Jerry told the hospital. "He memorized the lyrics after three or four times of listening to it. He used to sing it when he got a lot of headaches, but now he sings it in the morning, before bed and during shots he has to get."

A video of the visit was posted on Tuesday in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

According to the hospital, Jeremiah has just finished his second round of chemotherapy to fight his Stage 4 atypical rhabdoid teratoid, which the hospital describes as "an aggressive, fast-growing tumor that occurs in the brain and spinal cord."

At the end of the meeting, Jeremiah got a belly laugh out of Platten when he asked, "Can I have your autograph?"
