Pentatonix Proves the Naysayers Wrong With Their First Full-Length Original Album
By Sophie Schillaci
Prepare to have your world rocked by just five voices.
With three covers albums and two holiday compilations already released, Pentatonix -- the a capella group that won NBC's The Sing-Off in 2011 -- is breaking out with their very first album of 12 original songs.
The self-titled album comes on the heels of a major gig, opening for Kelly Clarkson on her Piece By Piece tour. After a slew of headline-making shows, Clarkson was forced to cancel several shows on account of vocal strain. But just weeks earlier, fans in Los Angeles were in on a happy surprise when Clarkson spontaneously announced her second pregnancy during a performance.
"I was not planning on announcing this. I'm totally pregnant again," she said through tears and giggles at her L.A. show. "I just didn't want you to think I was crazy. Honestly, I'm just hormonal today."
