Klein was one of Jackson's closest friends, and it was rumored that he was the biological father of Jackson's 18-year-old son, Prince. The doctor fueled some speculation when he tweeted a photo of himself as a young man alongside an image of Prince in January 2013.

News of Klein's death comes just one day after Prince was defending himself against a Twitter user who was claiming he was not the biological son of Jackson. "Everyone knows you are a Rowe-Klein NOT A Jackson!!" the Twitter user wrote. "Y'all should stop trying to put on a FAKE front and get real."

Prince responded, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister."
